Dad ran the Hood to Coast, August 25-26, 2006

My Dad ran the Hood to Coast race. It's the longest relay race in the world, and it takes place over 24ish hours and the team of 12 runners each run 3 legs that total 197 miles!! Wow, what a Dad, I mean, Super Dad!!! Mom let me stay up late and we went downtown to see Dad run his second leg. Mom only got one picture, "it's hard to photograph someone who is running", but nonetheless, it's documentation. We drove next to Dad and beeped our horn and shouted,"GO DAD GO - CHOCOLATE THUNDER!!!!!" It was cool. Dad says that his calves still hurt. I didn't know that there were little cows in the race too.

Jersey Trip Highlights Summer 2006

What a great summer I've had. Too bad it's almost over. One of my favorite new things that I discovered was the trampoline at my cousin's house in New Jersey. Once Mom signed the release papers, it was ok for me to take a turn jumping. It took me a while to get the hang of it but once I did, Mom couldn't get me off the thing. I love my cousins, Angus, Se and Fiona, and I miss them a lot. Another highlight of my summer was when I went on a hike with my Pop Pop and he taught me all about how bad littering is and now I tell EVERYONE all of the time,"No, no, no, Pop said...no trash on the ground...that's bad...trash goes in the trashcan". Thanks for setting me straight about that Pop.

SCI, Eugene, August 4-6, 2006

My first mini-tour has been a total success. Five shows in one week. Mom calls me a trooper, but I just love all of the different people to see and things to do, and I especially love the music. I really started getting my groove on in Eugene, making up words to songs and enjoying the fun things to see, like glowstick crocodiles and kites that looked like jellyfish. My Megan and Loren came too, and I loved having them around. We rocked that joint!!!

String Cheese Incident, Seattle, August 1+ 2, 2006

  • My Mom and I went up to Seattle to see String Cheese Incident and hang out with our friends. Mom got to see Kristin, Tania and Kevin too. They had fun making something they called "cocktails". I love my friend Emma, and it was so good to see her and dance and play together. My Mom and I stayed at a cool hotel downtown and ordered room service. She said that she was teaching me how to "do it right". I just liked being able to eat breakfast in bed. The shows were fun, and I found a cool pile of dirt next to the stage where I could play with my trucks. I also went side stage for the first time with Judd and Boogie to see my friend Scott Law play with the band. It was awesome, especially the lights.
